OSHA Outreach Training

What is OSHA Outreach Training?

The Outreach Training Program is our primary method of insuring that workers understand the basics of Occupational Safety and Health. Our OSHA 10 Hour and OSHA 30 Hour courses are designed to instruct workers and supervisors in hazard recognition. Students who complete the required training receive the official OSHA 10 Hour or 30 hour card issued by the U.S. Department of Labor. Outreach training is available for the construction and general industries.

Benefits of A Safety Training Program

An effective training program can reduce the number of injuries and deaths, property damage, legal liability, illnesses, workers' compensation claims, and missed time from work. A safety training program can also help a trainer keep the required OSHA-mandated safety training courses organized and up-to-date.

Safety training classes help establish a safety culture in which employees themselves help promote proper safety procedures while on the job. It is important that new employees be properly trained and embrace the importance of workplace safety as it is easy for seasoned workers to negatively influence the new hires. That negative influence however, can be purged with the establishment of new, hands-on, innovative effective safety training which will ultimately lead to an effective safety culture. A 1998 NIOSH study concluded that the role of training in developing and maintaining effective hazard control activities is a proven and successful method of intervention.

Why Take OSHA Training?

The primary benefit of OSHA training is in maintaining a workforce that can recognize work-related hazards and act accordingly. If you have ever been hit with an OSHA fine you know that the cost of sending all of your employees to safety school is much less than the cost of a non-compliance fine or a lawsuit.

Who Needs Safety Training?

If you live in Connecticut, Massachusetts, Missouri, Nevada, New Hampshire, New York, or Rhode Island, it is required by law that you must have a minimum of 10 hours of OSHA Accepted safety training to work on a public jobsite. Supervisors and superintendents are required to have a minimum 30 hours of safety training. Often times government jobs, unions, and employers may require either all employees or supervisors to take OSHA Training.

WHICH ONE DO I NEED?

This depends on where you live, your position, and your company and state requirements. If you are a supervisor, we recommend the 30 hour training course, as it goes into much greater depth and covers a wider range of safety topics. If you are an average employee, then you probably want to take the 10 hour training course. Use the tabs above or to the left to find out more about the OSHA Outreach 10 and 30 hour courses.

Should I take online or on-site training?

Whether you take your training online or on-site is entirely up to you. In general we recommend online training, if you want a more comfortable, flexible, self-paced learning environment, and on-site training if you are looking for a more "hands on" learning environment. Either way, Easy Safety School can provide you with the highest quality courses at the lowest prices. We offer excellent group discounts for both online and on-site training. Group discount savings can be up to 70% off the total price.
